Day 206: Selling Out

25 Jul

I made this obnoxious banner today for the express purpose of directing people to that fact that I’ve set up shop!

It’s over here.

After intense deliberation about which site I should use to sell my stuff from, not to mention calling around a thousand different print shops in the city and Brooklyn to figure out which shop is the best place to have the posters printed, I’ve decided to go with the website Society 6. It’s great because they do all the work for me. I just give them the files and they make high-quality prints out of them (on paper and stretched canvas!) and even do the shipping for me. My profit is next to nothing but that’s alright. If I can get two bucks from this stupid new year’s resolution of mine, then I’d be chuffed. 🙂

Right now, it only has the Arya Stark portrait and the Sherlock posters because people have messaged me to say that they would buy prints of those if I was selling. Oh and I put the Sansa Stark portrait as well because that one seems to be a crowd favorite, based on the site stats. Feel free to message if you want prints of anything else that I’ve made and I will gladly put it up for sale.

That is all! See you next time!

Wow that banner is really obnoxious, isn’t it?

Day 118: Site Things

28 Apr

gpoy: Revising Furiously edition

Tonight shall be spent fixing things on this site. I only just now realized, one-third of the way through the year, the importance of tagging my posts. So I plan on going through each and every goddamned post to tag and categorize them like a proper blogger. No big deal.

Please look forward to my Royal Wedding post tomorrow!

Days 67 & 68: Epic Header and Site Stuff

9 Mar

If you’ve read the previous entry, you’ll know that I’ve been working on the redesign for this site for a couple days now. I tried a lot of the other themes, and played around with using a header image. In fact, if you chanced upon this site a couple hours or so ago, you would have seen the photo of a delicious and beautiful cake as my header, and would probably have wondered whether or not you were in the right place. As to why I have pictures of beautiful cake saved in my computer, the answer is because they’re pretty.

Moving on. A couple of days have gone by. After trying out a gajmillion themes, I realized that I still really like the one I am currently using, so that was a waste of several hours. And so then I just made this animated header thing because when I was asking myself “what is something that is epic?,” all I could answer back was “if I had the power of superhuman flight.”

And then it was just a matter of changing the color of the background and such to match the header and there you have it.

I don’t know. I’ll probably get tired of this soon. Until I could think of something else to draw that is equally epic though, I’m stuck with this.

Oh well. See you tomorrow.

Day 1: Make this blog.

1 Jan

Hey friends. As you know, 2010 was a pretty epic year for me. I graduated from design school, spent four months partying non-stop, met amazing new people, and generally just had a blast.

This picture pretty much sums up how epic 2010 was: friends, dancing and laser lights.

Then I had to leave you again. This made me very sad. I turned to television and the internet to help get me through the day. Pretty soon, I was spending the entire day just watching stuff on my computer because it made me forget that I missed you. Consequently, I became lazy and stupid. And resigned to the fact that 2010 was the best year ever and 2011 can just go shove it.

Then I read something Neil Gaiman wrote years ago about how he wishes my new year would be filled with magic and shenanigans. He told me to make art and write and sing. And I thought, “What the heck. Challenge accepted.” And not only will I make sure to do those things this year, I will do them every day for the rest of the year. And I will share them with you, beloved friends, so you know what I’ve been up to in my little corner of the world (so far away from yours), and also so you could help me get through this whole thing.

So here we go.

To start the year off, my first task in this plan of making stuff and posting them in a blog is to make the actual blog.

This is not cheating. Making this blog look the way it looks has already taken me three hours. That’s three episodes of Doctor Who I could have re-watched. Believe me, it was very hard to force myself not to open VLC and just squee (this is a word) at Christopher Eccleston or David Tennant or Matt Smith. As far as I’m concerned, this blog is already a success.

Let’s just hope I could keep this up. For 364 more days.

Shit. What have I gotten myself into?
